The A/C Study: digging deep for the underlying factors driving HIV risk and vulnerability in ACB communities
This re-broadcast shines an inspirational light on why every day is worthy of ‘Black History Month’. Host, James Watson welcomes two key research members, Fanta Ongoiba and Pascal Djiadeu to discuss their landmark ‘A/C’ study, a comprehensive 'mixed methods' project created and developed by a passionate team of mostly black researchers and service providers. From the onset, the team underscored the lack of reliable data about race and ethnicity, which stood in the way of fully understanding the prevalence of HIV in African, Caribbean and Black communities in Ontario.
Listen in as together the group unpacks the study's journey, its issues, impacts, and ultimately how it fills the knowledge gap, speaking to the root causes of HIV vulnerability.
